Universal Orlando Resort – Dining Well!

Greetings, dear followers! T-Bird and I have just recently returned from our 3rd visit to Universal Orlando Resort in sunny central Florida. We were there in September 2015 to see the updates since our family vacation in 2001 (especially the Wizarding World of Harry Potter); and we discovered a wonderful hotel on site that we enjoyed so much, we decided to make another trip for our anniversary just to spend more time there. While we did much more than just fill our bellies during our sojourns, this post will primarily confine itself to the eats and drinks of the parks, the hotel, and CityWalk (a dining and entertainment area adjacent to the parks).

Starting from the top: from Cabana Bay Beach Resort – Build Your Own Omelette from the Bayliner Diner; Harvest Sling and snack mix from Swizzle Lounge; Lobster Roll. Multi-grain Croissant, Buttermilk Pancakes, and French Toast from Bayliner; Delizioso Pizza (delivery or carry-out) shown with our SonicFill unlimited refill mugs; s’mores kits for the on-site fire pits sold in the Grab & Go section of Bayliner; Fish & Chips from Hideaway Bar & Grill; and Vegetarian Breakfast Flatbread with Breakfast Potatoes from Bayliner (which I loved so much, I ate it three different mornings!) The Cajun Shrimp with Polenta was our anniversary dinner (compliments of the hotel) and the Sampler Platter of Ultimate Beef Nachos, Chicken Wings, and Southwestern Spring Rolls were served at Galaxy Bowl. The Cabana Burger and Braised Brisket Flatbread (shown lower in the gallery) were also from the Bayliner.

At the parks, I ate my way through The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Sticky Toffee Pudding Ice Cream at Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, Frozen Butterbeer in a special souvenir mug from The Fountain of Fair Fortune, a lovely Egg, Leek, and Mushroom Pasty with Pumpkin Juice at The Leaky Cauldron, and the unbearably huge Pancake Breakfast (with bacon, sausage, and a croissant) at The Three Broomsticks. Fish & Chips came from Finnegan’s Irish Bar & Grill in Universal Studios, and Brown Butter Gnocchi was a gourmet delight at Mythos in Island of Adventure. The Margarita Pasta came from Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, and the Crab Scotch Eggs were our treat at NBC Sports Grill Brew, both at the CityWalk. We had “Burgushi” (burger/sushi fusion dishes) named Doug’s Fillet Roll and High Class Hillbilly at Cowfish, followed by Beignets and a Hurricane at Pat O’Brien’s during another night at CityWalk.

For anyone interested, here is a slideshow of some non-food photos from our trips:

Hey! I know this is kinda off topic but I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest authoring a blog post or vice-versa? My site goes over a lot of the same subjects as yours and I feel we could greatly benefit from each other. If you might be interested feel free to shoot me an email. I look forward to hearing from you! Terrific blog by the way!
