This is a great way to dress up packaged brownie mix; and so decadent!
- 1 package brownie mix without nuts (about 10 oz)
- 1 egg
- Oil as directed on package (about 1/4 cup)
- Water as directed on package
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
Prepare batter as directed, using amount of water between amount directed for chewy and amount directed for cake-like. Stir in pecans and pour into 8 inch square or round pan sprayed with cooking spray. Drizzle caramel on top in random pattern; use knife or spatula to drag lines through batter and incorporate caramel into batter. Bake as directed on package. Serve warm with ice cream and chocolate syrup if desired.

Laura, I am off sugar and chocolate at the moment, but am going to file this one for when we allow ourselves a special treat. Love how simple it is!

This looks incredible, I love pecans so much… why ‘turtle’ brownies?

Turtle just indicates something with chocolate, caramel, and pecans. I think the name comes from the candies that are shaped a little like real turtles 🙂
