As stated last year, our tradition the last few years has been dining out for lunch or brunch on New Year’s Eve and coming home afterwards to avoid the crowds and traffic. This year with the day falling on a Monday when we are both scheduled to work, we opted to go out on Sunday the 30th after church, and have appetizers and bubbly at home as we wait for the ball to drop. We headed to the most iconic location in our city, the Chattanooga Choo Choo, which has recently undergone some updates with new restaurants and shops and converting some of the hotel rooms to apartments, to have brunch at Stir. This casual but chic restaurant serves familiar dishes with unique twists, along with a wide variety of cocktails. We both enjoyed eggs Benedict dishes (mine with shrimp and crab, his with country ham), $2 double mimosas, and their complimentary brunch bar with sides and pastries. After strolling through the Grand Terminal and grounds to see the holiday decorations, we went across the street to the Wildflower Tea Shop and Apothecary and Locals Only Chattanooga gift shop next door before ending our day with the holiday window displays at the Electric Power Board. It was a great addition to our holiday week!
We do have an amazing city and its getting better all the time. Great photos.
