Every year, our city has a music festival, Riverbend, which culminates in a special fireworks display over the river. Some years, if we’re not not excited about that night’s performers, we’ll find a different spot to hang out and avoid the crowds but still enjoy the fireworks. This year, we had dinner at Edley’s, a new barbeque restaurant across the river; and we were not disappointed! I had burnt ends with spicy grit casserole and mac & cheese, while hubby had the more traditional brisket with baked beans and slaw. The decor is part rustic, part funky (a cross between two old favorites Waycrazy’s and Mudpie) and they had live music by local artist Gino Fanelli on the deck. We found a spot nearby where we set our camp chairs for a great view of the fireworks. We’ll definitely be back for more barbeque (and music) soon!
