Our Savannah Adventure

The hubby and I decided to get away for the long Veteran’s Day weekend to beautiful Savannah, Georgia. His nickname since his youth group days has been T-Bird, so I found us a wonderful retro hotel named The Thunderbird Inn. We are all about supporting local businesses when we travel, and this hotel was perfect. We dined at great restaurants as well, from the longtime local institutions to the new and trendy. And I was thrilled to tour the Juliette Gordon Low house (birthplace of Girl Scouting) and see the iconic Mercer-Williams House and Bird Girl statue from the book and film Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (known in Savannah simply as “The Book”), as well as many of Savannah’s historic squares and houses of worship. We hope to be able to return in the near future!
