Every year near Christmas, the owner of the company I worked for takes the staff out for breakfast. This year, the venue was The Whitebird restaurant inside the elegant Edwin Hotel. Since Friday was my last official day of employment, it was nice to be included in this special occasion; especially at a spot I’ve never been to, but heard much about. The meal did not disappoint: I thoroughly enjoyed my Whitebird Benedict (country ham and sous vide eggs on English muffin with roasted red pepper hollandaise) with roasted potatoes, and was even able to bring home a coffee and one of their famous biscuits to enjoy while I work on my classes. I’m very grateful for almost 4 years at this woman-owned-and-operated business.
