Hospital Food (and Beyond)

As of this writing, I am still in the recovery process following emergency surgery for sepsis in mid-April. After 22 days of being treated at 3 different hospitals, I was discharged to home and have been cared for by my dear husband and biweekly home health wound care. I won’t go into the details of my surgery (for good reason) or the daily struggles of my recovery; but since this is a food blog, and since I do have photos of food I ate in the hospitals [because hubby asked me regularly, “what are you eating?”] and at home [since hubby and friends have been providing very good eats], it seemed appropriate to share them here on the blog [along with a few fun shots of me, hospital rooms, and others].

Slideshows below, in order: Erlanger Hospital Surgical ICU, Erlanger Hospital Trauma Step-Down Unit, Siskin Hospital for Rehabilitation, and Home Sweet Home. (Notice the commonality of pancakes across all venues.)

I was also treated at Erlanger North Hospital Emergency Room, but was sent to the main campus after only a few hours; I received excellent care there as well (just no meals).
