Add to slow cooker:
- 1 lb. pork sausage or ground beef, browned & drained
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni, cut in half or fourths (or use mini-pepperoni)
- 1 large or 2 small can(s) tomato sauce or pizza/pasta sauce
- 1 package sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 can diced tomatoes, plain or Italian (optional if your sauce is chunky)
- 32 oz (approximately) beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp dried onion flakes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp Italian seasoning mix
- Fresh ground pepper to taste
Cook on high 3-5 hours or low 6-8 hours. Then add:
- 3 cups dried pasta (I prefer wide egg noodles)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- More Italian seasoning & ground pepper to taste
Cook 30 more minutes. Serve topped with shredded Mozzarella or Italian blend cheese if desired.
