Salisbury Steak

Mission: Cook tasty, high-protein meal to boost iron before donating blood

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup or so milk

Combine first 4 ingredients in bowl. Melt butter in skillet on medium high; form meat mixture into oval patties and sear on both sides. Remove patties from skillet, reduce heat to medium, and stir in soup mix until combined; then whisk in milk until smooth (may not need all of it). Add patties back to pan, spooning gravy over; cover and reduce heat to medium low. Serve when gravy has thickened and onions are soft, 15-20 minutes.
