One of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic has been extended delays in the opening of new businesses. An example of this is Monkey Town Brewing Company, which spent much of the past 2 years in renovations. When it finally opened last month, we were eager to check out this local brewery, bar, and restaurant.
In addition to unique brews, MTBC serves freshly-prepared and unique appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and entrees, many with their famous homemade chips or sidewinder fries. We are already big fans!
In July 2024, we attended the Scopes “Monkey” Trial Reenactment in nearby Dayton, in the actual courtroom where the trial was held in 1925; and visited Monkey Town’s original location just a couple of blocks away. I had the chicken tenders and fries, while hubby had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. Even with record-breaking heat here in Tennessee, it was an enjoyable day.
